“I came to Lebanon in 1992. The dominant language, at the time, was French. It was my first time living in another country. Becoming a member of AWC allowed me to treat my homesickness and to speak easily in my native tongue. Through my discussions with other members, I learned have to navigate the country and where to purchase the coveted chocolate chips to make cookies. This group allows me to hang out with people from similar backgrounds and move forward to cope with the struggles that Lebanon’s unique situations. I feel fortunate to have several “playmates/sisters” to spend quality time with.”
