After settling in to my new residence in Lebanon, I realised that I missed real conversation in my native language with people other than my immediate family. I wanted to meet women I could really get to know and become friends with. The AWC offered me the opportunity to find that feeling of camaraderie.

This group allows me to hang out with people from similar backgrounds and move forward to cope with the struggles that Lebanon’s unique situations. The club allowed me to test my leadership skills, and I worked closely with the board and led activities. Our connection to FAWCO brought me in contact with expat women from all over the world, and I had the opportunity to join their international conferences.”
