Friendship is at the heart of the American Women's Club of Lebanon. Our community thrives on creating lasting connections and fostering camaraderie with Americans and expat women who share similar American passions and interests here in Lebanon.

“I came to Lebanon in 1992. The dominant language, at the time, was French. It was my first time living in another country. Becoming a member of AWC allowed me to treat my homesickness and to speak easily in my native tongue. Through my discussions with other members, I learned have to navigate the country and where to purchase the coveted chocolate chips to make cookies. This group allows me to hang out with people from similar backgrounds and move forward to cope with the struggles that Lebanon’s unique situations. I feel fortunate to have several “playmates/sisters” to spend quality time with.”

“When our family moved to Lebanon I didn’t know where to make friends with American ladies nor how to understand the culture. AWC became my bridge for everything. I became part of a sisterhood that fulfilled my social and intellectual needs in Lebanon as well as International contacts through FAWCO. The AWC ladies were the link to my past, my present and shall continue in my future.”

“I joined the AWC to find like-minded women who spoke English and would become my friends. I also enjoyed the many activities and relished the camaraderie and deep friendships I developed. The club allowed me to test my leadership skills, and I worked closely with the board and led activities. Our connection to FAWCO brought me in contact with expat women from all over the world, and I had the opportunity to join their international conferences.”
